Snowblower Reviews and Top Snow Thrower Models

When choosing a snowblower you have a lot of choices as there are many brands to choose from. Snow blowers are also not the cheapest things to purchase either as the average snow thrower will cost anywhere from 0 for a basic one up to ,800 for a top of the line model. Since there are a lot of different models to choose from, I will outline some of the most popular snow blowers below and give some of the reviews of each.

Snowblower Reviews by name brand.

Toro: This is one of the most popular name brand snow thrower because is has a good history of making quality products such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and more. In looking at the Toro models these seem to work the best for getting the job done and with ease. The Toro snowblower has plenty of power to get up to 18 inches of snow, starts easily, is reliable to get the snow removed from your driveway or sidewalk. This model will sell for around 5 which is the best bang for your buck we have found.

Yard Machines: This is another popular model that you can probably find in your local store such as Lowes or Walmart. It will cost you around 5 for a 3.5 horse power single stage 21 inch blower. This type of snow thrower is good for removing basic snow from your sidewalk and driveway. Do not expect to remove over 15 inches of snow or being heavy and wet. It's basically for removing snow right after it has settled as the engine on this one is not as good as the Toro but is also a bit cheaper if you're looking at saving a little money.

John Deere: The John Deere machine is definitely built with quality and power but you will also be paying for it with it's expensive price tag around 0 for select models. These machines will start with ease as some are even equipped with electric start options which allows you to simply plug in an extension cord that you have that would be plugged into an outlet to simply start the snow thrower. The handling is also very good compared to other brands even when some weigh up to 200 pounds. The turning can be done on a dime so if you have a driveway with a lot of maneuvering this will be a great snowblower for you.

Craftsman: Another popular model that is only sold in Sears stores, however we would caution anyone looking to purchase this model. You will find a lot of negative reviews on many of these brands because overall they simply to not match up to a Toro or John Deere. Craftsman does make a good lawn mower, however when looking at their snowblowers, they definitely do not meet many expectations. One model that we actually tested out never started after many pulls. Also we've found that the tires that come on the snow blower do not keep air that long and it's very hard to fill them back up. The price tag on these are around 0 so for that cost, you're better off getting a Toro.

In looking at the most popular snow throwers, we've found that the Toro or John Deere will be your best machine by far and last you years to come because of the quality put into the product. However if you are looking to save money and just interested in some light to moderate snow removal, the Yard Machines models could be for you.

Railroad Wedge Snow Plow and 1889 Steam Locomotive
I thought you'd like a look at this massive wedge snow plow. It was made from a locomotive's whale back tender, by removing the fuel tank and mounting the plow to the water tank. They filled the water tank with rocks to add weight. Right now, they have it coupled to a vintage Steam Locomotive that was built in 1889. Thanks for watching and commenting, I appreciate it!
